I know it's impossible to say without seeing the finished product, so I will post another poll when the Z5 is released, but are you considering buying the Z5 (whether or not you currently own a Z4)

I've went for NO as the rumoured asking price of 70 grand is out of my league but if its around the same as the E89 its a maybe :)

Yeah, obviously just a bit of fun at the moment, until we see a price and specs... my vote will be no, as I have a 6 month old son, so either he or the wife would have to be left behind... (or me, I guess, LOL!)

I'm also worried about the silly new VED rules which mean the owner pays a premium for the first five year for cars over £40k in addition to the road tax.

Tmarket has to have an impact on the new car market...

Yeah I thought that, although I guess it wouldn't put people off the Z5 as if they were in the market for one the alternative is also likely over 40k

Well depends on the pricing - as my lease finishes next year.

Planning going for Z5, if not 1 yr old M2

Definitely consider one in a year or so around Boxster/Cayman pricing, weight with similar quality and ideally better performance. I find the Cayman and especially Boxster gorgeous looking but always prefer a BMW :D and for more convenient for servicing (dealer locations).

Previous poster - is the M2 going to depreciate much in a year ? I like the M2 but fear it's price will always be a premium - I'd want a decent chunk off for a year old car.

My mate has just got a 235... sounds absolutely epic... I need a family car now (hence the A6 Avant), but if I didn't then the M2 would be right up there.

Well, just been pricing up an M2 - and going to cost me in a lot of sweet talking the wife.

However I can get an 240iM with Adaptive suspension and LSD for around £300 per month. - Rather than £700 for an M2

I would love an Z5 40i, but cost wise be more realistic for an Z5 30i - but hoping they can do an lease for around £300-£400 with adaptive suspension.

As its going to be new there is doubtful there be any discounts like there are on the 240iM & M4

As current reports say its more of an drivers car than the E89 - and to been honest I have no issues with my handling of the E89 (but I do have coil-overs)
